The Revised New Teacher's Survival Guide to Behaviour was published this year (2011). The original has recently been translated into Polish

Circle Solutions training course participants have often asked for a space to share ideas and experiences after training. This is now available at http://www.circlesolutionsnetwork.com.au/csn

The "Whole Child" primary program which addresses social and emotional learning, wellbeing, human rights and citizenship is now available. The program is published by RIgby/Pearson Whole Child and has three primary levels with five themes: Emotions, Getting Along, Family and Community, CItizenship and Human Rights, and Health and Wellbeing. Each theme for each level has two posters and a story to stimulate discussion and reflection. The stories are by authors such as Libby Gleeson and are a wonderful resource for schools.

Sessions in blue are open to allcomers, others have restricted access.

NB Circle Solutions Intro days are restricted to 25, Trainer programs to 10.

Dubbo Aboriginal Girls Project (AGC)

15 girls ages 12-16 spent three days in a residential workshop with Sue and Tania Major. We focused on identifying their strengths, their resilience, their dreams for the future and their ideas for promoting a more positive community. We helped them look at what healthy relationships were about and what they were entitled to. They played games, had fun, created collages, visited the zoo, asked good questions and came up with ways forward. This group decided to call themselves Miyaa (Wiradjuri for big sister) . We have now run two more AGC residentials in Dubbo and are exploring a further one in Perth.

Circle Time for Emotional Literacy is available from Footprint Books in Australia and also from Hawker Brownlow.

Hear Sue discussing the book on Radio National's All in the Mind. This book is a fully comprehensive guide to social and emotional literacy in the primary and secondary classroom. It has everything a teacher will need to start with Circle Time, including addressing some of the problems that arise - and will also provide the experienced practitioner with many new ideas. James Park, DIrector of Antidote has written the foreword. He says " This is a wonderfully lucid account of what needs to happen if Circle Time sessions are to promote the emotional literacy of children and young people" See discount offer on Publications Page.
